SOUTH BEND - Caroline A. Schumacher, 79, of Winding Wood Drive, died at 11:15 a.m. Tuesday in St. Joseph's Medical Center after an illness. Mrs. Schumacher was employed by Allan Bradley Co., Milwaukee, until 1947. She was born July 15, 1915, in Milwaukee, moving to South Bend in 1947.

On May 1, 1947, in Milwaukee, as Caroline Dombrowski, she married Regis Schumacher. He survives with a daughter, Marian Lee Schumacher of Chicago; a son, Martin of South Bend; a sister, Irene Frank of Phoenix; and a brother, Henry Dombrowski of Milwaukee. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mishawaka, St. Anthony Rosary Society, Knights of Columbus Council 1878 Ladies Auxiliary and St. Vincent de Paul Society.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in the church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Mishawaka. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home, Mishawaka, where a rosary will be said at 3 p.m. Thursday. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society.
