David E. Schultz, 55, of North Adams Street, South Bend, died at 9:15 a.m. Friday, October 11, in the Hospice House, South Bend. He was born on September 27, 1947 in Monroe, Michigan to the late Irene M. (Stanifer) and Herman Schultz.

On May 18, 1996 in South Bend he married Tracy Abshagen who survives. Mr. Schultz is also survived by a daughter, Breanna Schultz who lives at home; a sister, Donna Richileau of Newport, Michigan; and a brother, Ronald Schultz of Columbia, Tennessee; and, several nieces an nephews.

Mr. Schultz worked in research and development for Electronic Interface, Inc. He was a member of Community Congregational Church, South Bend, and was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War.

Memorial services for Mr. Schultz will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16, in the Community Congregational Church, 19671 Cleveland Road, South Bend, Rev. Paul Blend pastor of the church will conduct the memorial services. Cremation will take place in the Michiana Crematory, South Bend. Welsheimer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, a trust fund has been set up at First Source Bank in the name of Breanna K. Schultz, daughter of Mr. Schultz.
