Arthur E. Schultz, 73, of Mishawaka,
Indiana, passed away on March 11, 2000. He passed peacefully with
his children and wife at his side. Art was born on June 25, 1926,
in Dowagiac, Michigan, to Jacob and Ida (Streik) Schultz,
who preceded him in death. Art married Peggy Hill on Feb.
19, 1977, in South Bend, Indiana. Arthur Schultz is survived by
four children from a previous marriage to Verna D. Smith
(m. 1946, div. 1974); Paula Hobson of Mishawaka, Roger
Schultz and his wife, Nancy, of Danville, Indiana, Julia Kay Terwilliger
and her husband, Wayne, of Farmington Hills, Michigan, and
Tabatha Schultz of Pelzer, South Carolina. Also surviving are six
grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He leaves behind
brothers, Henry Schultz of Michigan and Albert Schultz of South
Bend; and sisters, Alvina Konopinski, Rosie Arney
and Eda Bell, all of Michigan. Preceding him in death are
sisters, Anne Schultz, Millie Schultz, Amila Sullivan and
Helen Bankie; and brothers, Emil Schultz and Jack Schultz.
Art retired after 35 years from Bendix in 1985, and he was a
member of UAW Local #9, Bowlers Country Club, and the First
Apostolic Church of Mishawaka. He was an avid golfer and card
player. One of the many things you could say about our beloved
husband, father, grandpa, brothers, uncle and friend was his
awesome sense of humor. Art always had a great joke for you and a
smile on his face. He was a wonderful husband and he will be
missed deeply. We commit him into the hands of the Lord.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please make a donation to the American Cancer Society and American Lung Association. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 14, in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, Osceola. The funeral will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 15, in Chapel Hill Funeral Home.
