Mishawaka - Fred C. Schroeder, 36, well-known businessman of this city died at St. Joseph Hospital after an illness of three months of peritonitis, resulting in complications. He was born in Marshall County Oct. 11, 1887 and came to this city when 12 years old.
He was married to Miss Luella M. Gard, of Mishawaka, Jan. 24, 1917. Surviving him are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Warren Schroeder; his wife; two sisters, Mrs. Jennie Arata and Miss Agnes Schroeder; two brothers, Louis and Edward; and five children, Raymond, Angela, Virginia, Joan and Frederick, all of Mishawaka.
He was a member of the firm of Schroeder Coal & Ice Company, of this city, a member of St. Monicas Catholic Church; and belonged to the Holy Name Society and the Mishawaka council, Knights of Columbus. The body was taken from the Hummer funeral home to the residence at 4 oclock this afternoon.
The funeral will be held Monday morning at 10:30 oclock from St. Monicas Catholic Church, Rev. John Kohl officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
