MISHAWAKA - Sister M. Irene Schneidt, OSF, 74, of Our Lady of Angels St. Francis Convent, died at 11:50 a.m. Sunday in her residence.

Sister M. Irene was born July 24, 1920, in Goodland, Ind., as Irene C. Schnedit. She entered the convent Jan. 6, 1936, and received her Franciscan habit Aug. 12, 1936. She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Francis Wagner of Wolcott, Ind.; and four brothers, Francis and Irvin, both of Fowler, Ind., Cletus of Florida and Kenneth of Chalmers, Ind. She worked in education and health care. Her last mission was at St. Elizabeth's Hospital Medical Center, Lafayette, Ind., where she retired in 1988.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Our Lady of Angels Chapel, where a wake will be at 6:45 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery. Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include two brothers, Paul of Wolcott, Ind., and Richard of Goodland, Ind. Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
