Sister Mary Caritas CSC, 68, died early today in St. Mary’s Convent after a serious illness. She was born in Paducah, Ky. in September, 1897.After receiving her nursing degree in Illinois in 1925, she entered the Sisters of the Holy Cross ion 1926. From 1927 when she made her profession of vows, until 1932, she was the director of the School of Nursing at St. Joseph Hospital in South Bend. She the served as director of the schools of nursing in Jacksonville, Ill.; Cairo, Ill. In 1947 she was at the University of Notre Dame. In 1948 she returned to St. Mary’s Convent where she was on nursing duty until illness forced her retirement.

A requiem mass will be at 10:30 Saturday in the Chapel of Our Lady of Loretto and burial will be in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery on the campus. Friends may call in the convent parlor.
