Catherine Schlingerman, 85, of 414 Haney St., died at 7:10pmMonday in the Morningside Nursing Home after a ten month illness.  She retired after 15 years of service with the Bell Telephone Co.

She was born November 17, 1883, in Corning OH and had lived in South Bend for 45 years, coming from Newark OH.  On Aril 18, 1912, in Corning OH, she was married to Henry Schlingerman, who died in 1933. Surviving is a brother, Frank Francis Wishman of South Bend

Friends may call from 7 to9pm today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm Wednesday in the Orvis-Palmer Funeral Home.  Services will be held at 10:30am Thursday in St Matthew’s Cathedral, Rt Rev. Msgr. Joseph R. Crowley, rector, officiating.  Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Notre Dame.  She was a member of St Matthew’s Cathedral parish.  Rosary will be recited at 8pm Wednesday in the funeral home.
