Philip Schlarb  

Philip Schlarb, of Center township died at 2:15 p.m. Monday as a result of a fall suffered Jan. 3.  He was 61 years old.  Surviving him are his wife Mrs. Catherine Schlarb; six children, Mrs. R. C. Schrader and Mrs. Alta Kern, of South Bend; Walter Schlarb, Madison township; John Schlarb of Bourbon, Ind. and Howard Schlarb also of this city.  Two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Mattmiller and Mrs. Catherine Horien, and a brother, Jacob Schlarb, all of Madison township, also survive him.  He was born in Madison township April 27, 1857.  Funeral services will be held Wednesday at the residence at 1:30 p.m. and at the Union church at 2 p.m.  Rev. Walter Hetzel officiating.  Burial will be in Palmer's Prairie cemetery.
