A. Scheyving
March 30, 1920 - May 10, 2010
SOUTH BEND - Maurice A. Scheyving, 90, from South Bend, passed
away on Monday, May 10, 2010, at the Morningside Nursing Home in
South Bend. Maurice was born on March 30, 1920, in South Bend, to
the late Edward and Maria (Noteboom) Scheyving. Maurice married
the former Helen Vanderheyden on September 2, 1945, at the Twin
Branch Bible Church in Mishawaka. Maurice and Helen shared 64
wonderful years of marriage together. Maurice is survived by his
wife Helen and their two sons, Kenneth L. (Andrea) Scheyving of
Auburn, WA, and Keith L. (Veronica) Scheyving of Winnetka, CA.
Maurice was a loving and caring grandfather to a granddaughter,
Kimberly, and grandson, Josuha. He was preceded in death by a
sister, Julia Calmer. Maurice served his country during W.W. II
in the United States Air Corps, receiving an honorable discharge
in 1945. After the service Maurice worked for the Levy-Ward
Grocery Company for 23 1/2 years. He also worked for
Wheelabrator-Frye as a layout man in the steel shop, retiring
after 13 1/2 years of service. Maurice and Helen were able to
travel together and enjoy all of the 50 states of the United
States. There will be no visitation. The funeral service will be
private. Burial will be held at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park
in Granger. Bubb Funeral Chapel assisted the family with the
arrangements.
