MISHAWAKA - Addie "Lucy" Scheibelhut, 92, of Day
Road, passed away of natural causes at 1:35 PM Wednesday, August
1, in Fountainview Place Nursing Home. Lucy was born October 26,
1914, in Depoy, Kentucky, to the late James and Myrtle (Whitfield)
Jennings.
On February 3, 1934, Lucy married Mr.
Richard Scheibelhut in Granger, Indiana, a love that would last
73 years. Richard Sr. survives, along with their sons, Richard
(Mary Ann) Scheibelhut Jr. of Cassopolis, MI, and John (Jane)
Scheibelhut of Denton, TX. Also surviving are their daughters,
Mary (Don) Copper of Niles, Jean Johnson of South
Bend, Nancy (Larry) Wolfe and Vickie (Ed) Filley,
both of Mishawaka. Surviving as well are a brother, Gilbert
(Betty) Jennings of Mishawaka; a sister, Ernestine Parmalee
of South Bend; 11 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one
great-great-grandchild. Lucy was preceded in death by four
brothers, H.B. Jennings and Bill Jennings, Gerald Jennings and
James Jennings; a sister, Carolyn Michele; a grandchild,
Randy Johnson; and by a great-grandchild, Jaxon
Scheibelhut.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m.
today, August 3, in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley
Highway, Osceola, Indiana. Funeral services will be held at 9:00
a.m. Saturday, August 4, in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, with
interment to follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Lucy was a
homemaker. In her spare time she enjoyed traveling to Florida for
the winters, and to Las Vegas and Atlantic City. She loved to
play BINGO, shuffleboard, and cards with her family. She was an
animal lover, especially with her "furry
grandchildren," and was a wonderful and loving wife, mother
and grandmother to her family. In her memory, contributions may
be made to the Harbor Light Hospice.
