Mrs. Margaret Schang, of 729 East
Pennsylvania Avenue, died shortly after 1 o’clock this
afternoon in her home at the age of 74, after five days illness.
She was born Nov. 23, 1856, a native of Austria, and
came here from that country 57 years ago. She was married Aug. 7,
1888 to George Schang. Besides her husband she leaves three
children, Miss Agnes G. Schang and George A. Schang of South
Bend, and Joseph E. Schang of Algonquin, Ill., and two sisters
and a brother, Mrs Lena Myers, of Mishawaka, and Mrs. Leo Myers,
of Lakeville, this county, and Oscar Wilhelm of South Bend.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 9 o’clock in St. Matthew’s Roman Catholic Church with Rev. Theodore Hammes, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. The body may be viewed in the residence. She was a member of the Altar Society of St. Matthew’s Church.
