George Schang, aged 85, of 729 Pennsylvania Avenue, died in his residence at 10:15 a.m. today after three weeks illness of heart disease. He was born in Clinton, Ohio, Aug. 9, 1852 and spent most of his life here. His wife Margaret Schang died in 1931.
He leaves a daughter, Miss Agnes Schang; two sons, George H. and Joseph Schang, and a sister, Mrs Clara Ullery, all of South Bend. He was a member of the Holy Name Society of St. Matthew’s Roman Catholic Church.
Friends will be received in the L. W. McGann chapel until 1 p.m. Friday and in the residence from that time until the funeral. The service will take place at 9 a.m. Saturday in St. Matthew’s church where Rev. Arnold J. Wibbert CSC, pastor, will sing the requiem mass. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery.
