MISHAWAKA – Memorial services for Richard J. Schalliol, 81, of 1739 E. Jefferson Blvd., who died at 1:25 a.m. Sunday in St. Joseph Hospital, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in St. Andrew’s Unied Church of Christ. Cremation will take place at Riverview Crematory in South Bend. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the Bubb Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.

Mr. Schalliol retired in 1971 from Uniroyal Plastics Company after 35 years of employment. He was born May 19, 1908 in Mishawaka and was a lifelong area resident.

On March 28, 1937 in Mishawaka he married Ruth Buetemiller, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter Sarabeth Carr of Grand Rapids, Mich.; two sons, David G. of Bloomington, Ind. and Daniel M. of Wakarusa; three grandchildren; and four brothers, Robert E. of Mishawaka, Paul M. of South Bend, Herbert C. of Denver and Edgar R. of Rochester.

He was a member of the church, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 360, Uniroyal Management Club, the 80th division of Veterans Association and was a veteran of World War II.
