Kristin Nicole Schalliol

Kristin Nicole Schalliol, 15 years old, residing on Sylvia Drive, North Liberty, passed away at 4:10 p.m. on Wednesday, February 20, 2002 at the Riley Children's Hospital, Indianapolis, after suffering a stroke last Saturday. Kristin was born on August 22, 1986 in Columbus, Ohio and has lived most of her life in North Liberty. Kristin was a freshman at John Glenn High School in Walkerton. She was a varsity cheerleader, played clarinet in the band, was a member of the Crimson Guard and first edition girl's choir. Kristin was also a member of Students Against Drunk Driving and the French Club. She was a Jr. Leader and six year member of the St. Joseph County 4-H Fair. She loved music and dance.

Survivors include her parents; Michael and Joyce Schalliol of Mishawaka, and Claudia and Kim Stuber of North Liberty; one sister, Jessica (Aaron) Williams of South Bend; paternal grandmother, Margaret Schalliol of Mishawaka; paternal step-grandmother, Betty McCormick of North Liberty; maternal step-grandfather, Nelson Stuber of South Bend; and a maternal step-grandmother, Helen Baker of Mishawaka. Her aunts and uncles include; Helen (Bernard) Le Mieux of Perrysburg, Ohio, Susan (Tom) Leininger of Elkhart, Ind. Anthony (Shirley) Schalliol of South Bend, Stephanie (Joseph) Baran of Monument, Colo., Barbara (Thomas) Reed of Rockville, Md., Navy (Rachael) Banvard of Pacific Palisades, Calif., Karen (Joseph) Dregits of Osceola, Thomas (Tish) McCormick of North Liberty, Joan (David) Garber of Normal, Ill. Jeff (Ann) Stuber of Mishawaka, Ind., Dave (Becky) Stuber of Elkhart, Ind. and Eric Stuber of Mishawaka, Ind. Kristin has many cousins, some of which include; Sean and Caitlin Baran, Stephanie and John Reed, Nicholas, Michael and Christopher Leininger. Kristin was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Earl D Schalliol; maternal grandparents, Ruth and Navy Banvard; and paternal step-grandfather, Lyle D. McCormick.

The Funeral Mass will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, February 25, 2002 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 810 Tyler Street, Walkerton. Rev. Michael Winkowski will officiate. Graveside services and burial will follow at Westlawn Cemetery, North Liberty. Friends may visit with the family from 2 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, February 23rd at the Palmer Funeral Home, Lakeville. There will be a memorial service held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, February 24th, at the John Glenn High School, Walkerton. Contributions in memory of Kristin Nicole Schalliol may be donated to the Riley Children's Hospital, 702 Barnhill Drive, Room 1715, Indianapolis, Ind. 46202. Kristin will continue to live on in our hearts and in others through her generous gift of organ donations. During her short life here on earth she brought unbelievable joy and happiness to us all. She gave so much of herself to others and was an inspiration to all who knew her. She will be so greatly missed.
