Earl D. Schalliol, 81, of Kern Road, Mishawaka, passed away at 7:27 p.m. Saturday in St. Joseph's Medical Center, South Bend, Ind. Mr. Schalliol was born Nov. 12, 1915, in Wakarusa, Ind., and had lived in this area most of his life. He was a self employed accountant and farmer for 50 years.
On May 30, 1941, in Mishawaka he married Margaret De Geyter. She survives along with two daughters, Helen (Bernard) Lemieux of Perrysburg, Ohio, and Susan (Tom) Leininger of Elkhart; two sons, Anthony (Shirley) Schalliol of Bremen, Ind. and Michael (Joyce) Schalliol of Mishawaka, a brother, Wayne Schalliol of Mishawaka; five grandsons; three granddaughters, a great-grandson; and a great-granddaughter. Mr. Schalliol was preceded in death by a brother, Carl Schalliol.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday with Rev. Elden Miller, officiating at Hahn Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Rest Heaven Cemetery, Wyatt, Ind. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Queen of Peace Church or the American Heart Association.
Mr. Schalliol was on the first school board for the Penn Harris
Madison School Corporation, was president of the St. Joseph
County Farm Bureau Co-op and secretary of the St. Joseph County
Farm Bureau Credit Union, and he was also the Clerk of Rogers
Ditch Association. He was a 1940 Notre Dame graduate.
