SOUTH BEND - Bev Jean Scarsella, 76, of South Bend, passed
away September 12, 2008. Born September 17, 1931, in Canada, she
was the daughter of the late Clifford and Marie Prieur. On
April 11, 1953, she married Bernard "Joe" Scarsella.
They were married 53 years, before he preceded her in death.
Survivors include her son, Daniel L. (Suzanne) Scarsella of South
Bend; four grandchildren, Christina, Hilary, Ben and Jill
Scarsella; three brothers, Bruce (Karyn) Prieur of Grand Rapids,
Lloyd (Sharon), and Elmer (Mary) Prieur, both of Hale, MI; and
two sisters, Eleanor Heinz of Tennessee, and Carol Stewart
of Virginia. Bev had many hobbies and talents, including
knitting, crocheting, sewing, gardening, canning and baking. She
was an exceptionally good pie maker. She also enjoyed teaching
catechism for many years. She and Joe were members of the
American Legion in Hale, Michigan.
A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church on Friday, September 19 at 11:00 a.m., where friends may call one hour prior. Memorial Contributions may be sent to St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church.
