Margaret Demaris Scanlon, 91, of 13550 Esther Ave., Mishawaka, Ind., passed away Sept. 7, at 10:05 p.m., at the Ironwood Health and Rehabilitation Center, following an extended illness.
Mrs. Scanlon was born on Sept. 8, 1904, in South Bend, Ind., and had lived in the Mishawaka, Osceola area all of her life. As Margaret Demaris Carey, she married Don Weisweaver, in Edwardsburg, Mich., on Oct. 6, 1922. He preceded her in death on Jan. 13, 1957.
On April 20, 1963, in Osceola, Ind., she married Howard Scanlon. He preceded her in death on May 28, 1984.
Surviving is a daughter, Norma K. Deardorf of Mishawaka; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Scanlon was preceded in death by two daughters, Marjorie Wagner of Union, Mich. and Patricia Weisweaver of Mishawaka; and a son, Robert Weisweaver of Osceola.
Friends may call at the Warner Funeral Home, 1109 Lincoln Way West, Osceola, from 6 to 8 p.m., today, where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday. The Rev. David Heim, of the Osceola United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will take place at Fairview Cemetery in Mishawaka.
Mrs. Scanlon had been a homemaker throughout her
life and a long-time member of the Osceola United Methodist
Church.
