SOUTH BEND - Lyle C. Scameheorn, 87, of East Gatehouse Drive, died at 8:05 a.m. Thursday in his home following an illness. Mr. Scameheorn was a machine operator at the former Bendix Corp. for 41 years and also was owner of Scameheorn Farms. He was born Oct. 20, 1907, in South Bend.
On Dec. 22, 1956, in South Bend, he married Anna Louise Reidenbach. She died in 1990. Surviving are a sister-in-law, Janette Scameheorn of Buchanan; an aunt, Irby Weber of South Bend; and several nieces and nephews.
He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of Faith Lutheran Church.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William St. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call an hour before services Saturday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
