Rosemary Ann Savage, 63, of
Springmill Drive, Mishawaka, Ind., died at 8:10 a.m. on Thursday,
Jan. 22, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend, Ind. She was born in
Uniontown, Pa., on June 28, 1934, to Freeman and Jennie (Fusco)
Lazaran, who preceded her in death.
In Uniontown, she married Earl J. Savage on
July 15, 1961. He survives. She is also survived by her son,
Steven E. Savage of Mishawaka; and her sister, Mildred Fike of
Uniontown. Rosemary was a graduate of Uniontown High School in
1952. She received her Bachelor's degree in elementary education
from Waynesburg College in Pennsylvania and her Master's degree
in education from West Virginia University.
She was an elementary school teacher for 40
years, having taught at Gallatin School in Uniontown from 1957 to
1962, and the last 34 years with the South Bend Community School
Corporation. She dedicated her life to helping others, including
her students, and her quiet, kind and generous nature was an
inspiration to all who knew her. Rosemary was an avid flower
gardener and nature lover, who always took time to admire God's
good works.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today in
the Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main Street, Mishawaka. A
funeral Mass will be held at noon on Saturday at St. Pius X
Catholic Church. The funeral cortege will form at the funeral
home starting at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Valley
Memorial Park, Granger, Ind. Memorial contributions may be made
to the American Cancer Society or to St. Pius X Church.
