SOUTH BEND - Frank J. Sarmer, 77, of Indiana Avenue, died of natural causes at 11 a.m. Wednesday in his home. Mr. Sarmer retired in 1980 from Mastic Asphalt Co. He was born July 15, 1918, in Akron, Ohio, and lived in South Bend since 1926.

He is survived by a sister, Rose Kadik of Florida; and two brothers, Ernest Jr. of South Bend and Joseph of Seattle; four nieces; and four nephews. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of Our Lady of Hungary Catholic Church and the American Legion.

There will be no services or visitation. Cremation will take place, with burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Zahoran Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
