Manuel Santos, 86, of 13922 Cerise Dr., Hawthorne, Calif., aied at 10:30 p.m. Monday in his home, after a two-month illness. He was born in Portugal Dec. 23, 1888 and moved to Rhode Island from Portugal in 1910. He moved to California in 1920 and lived there until his death.

Surviving are a son, Manuel Roy Santos of Inglewood, Calif., and two nephews, Valentino Fomseca of Mishawaka and Antonio Fomnseca Jr. of South Bend.

Friends may call after 6 p.m. Friday in the Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home, where the rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Friday. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Bavo’s Catholic Church. Rev. Stephen Cvaniga, pastor, will officiate and burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
