Eugene J. Santilli, 75, of Berkshire Dr. in South Bend, died at 6:15 a.m. Friday June 10th in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center. He was born in Kenosha, Wisconsin on December 16, 1929 to Joseph & Mary (Ventura) Santilli.
Eugene married the former Rosa (Bunny) Sarvis on May 7, 1953 in Columbia, South Carolina. He is survived by Bunny his wife of 52 years. Also surviving are his sons, Joseph (Julie Ann) Santilli of South Bend, Thomas (Cindy) Santilli of Mishawaka, Frank (Kathleen) Santilli also of Mishawaka, seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Nancy Rupert of Wilmette, Illinois. Eugene was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and a son Anthony on May 7, 2001.
He was a self employed Insurance Broker for many years operating Santilli and Associates. Eugene served in the Army during the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged in 1953. He was a member of the Moose, the American Legion Post #161 and St. Jude Catholic Church.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday June 13th in Bubb Funeral Chapel North 3910 N. Main St. in Mishawaka where the Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Jude Catholic Church with burial to follow in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger.
