Geraldine L. Sanna, 93, of Southfield, formerly of 19689 Dubois Avenue, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 11, in Southfield. Mrs. Sanna was born on Aug. 15, 1908, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to the late John F. and Louise V. (Pohle) McCarthy. She moved to the South Bend, Ind., area, coming from Flushing, N.Y., and had lived here for over 40 years.

As Geraldine McCarthy, she married Edward C. Sanna, who preceded her in death on Oct. 17, 1987. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Regina McCarthy; and two brothers, Vincent and John McCarthy. She is survived by two daughters, Rosemary (John) Chapman of Lafayette, Ind., and Geri (Ken) Slack of Mishawaka, Ind.; a son, Thomas (Sue) Sanna of Lake Orion, Mich.; nine grandchildren, Mary Beth Coyner, Kathleen Beville, Patricia Stage and Michael Chapman, Nicole, Kristin and Monica Slack, Stacey McAllister and Francine Sanna; two great-grandchildren, Abigail and Rachel Beville; and by a brother, Joseph McCarthy of Mineola, N.Y. Mrs. Sanna was a parishioner of Christ the King Catholic Church and a member of the Altar and Rosary Society. She also belonged to the Harvest House-Christ the King Center. Mrs. Sanna was a homemaker.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. today, Sept. 14, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, in Christ the King Catholic Church. Burial will take place at Cedar Grove Cemetery, Notre Dame, Ind. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Harvest House-Christ the King Center, 52473 U.S. 933 North, South Bend, IN 46637; or to Our Lady of Fatima Retreat House, P.O.
