SOUTH BEND - Alpha R. Sanderson, 94, of Hawthorne Street, died at 7:10 p.m. Friday in Holy Cross Care and Rehabilitation Center. Mrs. Sanderson was employed by the Crown Point School System as a registered nurse and was field secretary for Illinois Tuberculosis Association. She was born Jan. 15, 1900, in Shelby County, Ill., and moved to South Bend in 1933 from Crown Point.

On Dec. 25, 1931, in Springfield, Ill., as Alpha Rodenberger, she married Dr. Robert B. Sanderson. He died in January 1986. Surviving are two sons, Dr. David R. of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Dr. Richard R. of Woodland Hills, Calif.; and six grandchildren. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, PEO Sisterhood, Panhellenic, Alpha Chi Omega Social Sorority and Indiana State Medical Association Women's Auxiliary. She was a graduate of the University of Missouri.

Committal services will be at 11:15 a.m. Monday in Riverview Mausoleum. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday in Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William St. Memorial contributions may be made to the church or Northwestern University Medical School.
