Mr. Kenneth "Kenny" Sanders,
51, passed away after an extended illness at 9:30 a.m. on Monday,
Sept. 13, in his residence. He was born on Sept. 3, 1948, in
Chicago, Ill., and resided in the Michiana area his lifetime.
Prior to becoming disabled he was employed in the construction
trades in the South Bend area. Mr. Sanders is survived by his
parents, Kenneth and Marie Sanders of Lakeville, Ind.; maternal
grandmother, Helen Vogler of Chicago; a daughter, Charity
Ann Sanders of Virginia Beach, Va.; two sisters, Terry C. Sanders
of Lakeville and Lynn Marie Tobias of Battle Creek, Mich.;
and by a brother, Kevin A. Sanders of Lakeville. Kenny was a
Marine veteran of the Viet Nam War, and was a member of the
Paralyzed Veterans Association.
Visitation hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m.
today in the Hanley & Sons "Southwest Chapel"
Funeral Home, located at West Ireland Road/Indiana 23, South
Bend. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 16,
in the Hanley and Sons "Southwest Chapel" Funeral Home,
with Rev. Dermot Gahan of St. Matthew Cathedral officiating.
Burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery. The family request that
all memorial contributions be made to the Paralyzed Veterans
Association, Veterans Affairs, Indianapolis, IN. The Hanley &
Sons "Southwest Chapel" Funeral Home handled services
and extend heartfelt sympathy to the Sanders family.
