Lillian M. Rzepnicki (Oct. 11, 1924 -
April 3, 2002)
Lillian M. "Eleanor" Rzepnicki,
77, of W. Catalpa Street in Mishawaka, IN, formerly of South Bend,
passed away at 5:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2002 in her home.
She was born on October 11, 1924 to the late
Stanley and Angeline (Klawinski) Wegner in South
Bend, IN, and was a lifelong area resident. One sister, Dorothy Sessler
and one brother, Stanley Wegner, also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Rzepnicki served as a LPN for Dr. Abel
for many years during the 1940s and 1950s. She then served as a
waitress at Morris Park Country Club for several years, before
becoming a Supervisor in charge of cleaning the County City Building
in South Bend.
On June 15, 1946, as Lillian Wegner, she
married Bernard J. Rzepnicki in Holy Cross Catholic Church, South
Bend, IN. He survives, along with her son, Ronald A. (wife Wren
K.) Rzepnicki of New Paltz, NY; four grandchildren, Daniel and
Rachel Rzepnicki, both of New Paltz, NY; Joshua Rzepnicki of New
York, NY; Petty Officer Matthew Rzepnicki, who is currently
serving on the U. S. S. George Washington; and one
great-granddaughter, Daniela Rzepnicki of West Hurley, NY.
Mrs. Rzepnicki was a member of St. Monica
Parish, where she was a former member of the Rosary Society at
the church.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11
a.m. Monday, April 8, 2002 in St. Monica Catholic Church, Mishawaka,
IN. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend, IN.
Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Sunday,
April 7, 2002 in Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South
Bend, IN, where a Parish Rosary will be prayed at 3:30 p.m.
