Sister M. Frances Paula CSC, 80, of Saint Mary’s Convent, died at 7:45 p.m. Tuesday in the convent. She resided in Our Lady of Holy Cross Convent from 1965 until to St. Mary’s Convent this year. Born Jan. 31, 1891 in Chicago, as Frances V. Ryan, she entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross on Sept. 8, 1910 in Chicago. She made her profession of vows Aug. 15, 1913. She taught in secondary schools in Northern Indiana, Illinois, California and Idaho, including St. Joseph Academy and St. Joseph School in South Bend.

Friends may call at the convent where a wake will be at 7:15 p.m. today. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Our Lady of Loretto Church, with burial in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, both at St. Mary’s.
