MISHAWAKA - Mary I. Ruyling, 86, of Woodfield Manor, Niles, formerly of Mishawaka, died at 3:10 p.m. Friday in the nursing home.
Mrs. Ruyling was born Dec. 27, 1907, in South Bend and was a lifelong area resident. On Nov. 30, 1946, in Mishawaka, as Mary I. DeRoo Vandervelt, she married Henry J. Ruyling. He died May 11, 1983.
She is survived by three daughters, Marion Van Tornhout of Mishawaka, Virginia Mroz of Jones and Jane Jackson of Mount Morris, Mich.; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. A daughter, Josephine Fermi Byers, died in 1988. She was a member of the Sodality of St. Bavo's Catholic Church and a former member of BK Club Auxiliary.
Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in the church. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today in Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home, where a wake will be at 7 p.m.
