MISHAWAKA -- Robert C. "Bob"
Ruthrauff passed away unexpectedly at 12:15 a.m., July 13,
2007, with his family at his side in St. Joseph Regional Medical
Center, Mishawaka.
Bob is survived by his wife of 31 years,
Kris and their daughter, Ashley, both of Mishawaka; his mother,
Ardie Ruthrauff of Green Valley, AZ; his sister, Edie (Fred) Greene
of Brandon, MS; three brothers, Joe of Mishawaka; Bill (Lauren)
of Howell, NJ and Jim (Jeannie) of Granger; his mother-in-law,
Carol Longbrake; brother-in-law, Jay Longbrake; and
sister-in-law, Karen Fox. He was preceded in death by his
father, Charles F. Ruthrauff.
Born in Chicago, he was a longtime resident
of Mishawaka, and a 1968 graduate of Mishawaka High School. A
loyal employee, Bob retired from Dometic Corp., Elkhart, with
more than 30 years of service. Bob was challenged by juvenile
diabetes and epilepsy for most of his life, yet he never let that
hold him back. He enjoyed his life and never complained about his
fate. He lived in a selfless manner. Bob's favorite expression
was, "I'm fine," although his family may have known
otherwise. He always had a smile on his face and a helping hand
for others. He will be greatly missed. Bob loved sports of all
kinds, particularly baseball, and was ecstatic when his lifelong
favorite team, the Chicago White Sox, won the 2005 World Series.
He had a tremendous knowledge of the game and an incredible
ability to remember statistics.
A viewing will be held at HICKEY Funeral
Home, 3516 E. Jefferson Blvd., South Bend, on Monday from 4 to 8
p.m. and 10 a.m. until services Tuesday morning in the church. A
