Margaret T. Ruszkowski
March 21, 1913 - Feb. 16, 2001
Margaret T. Ruszkowski, 87, of Crumstown Highway, passed away at 12:15 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 16, in the Regency Place Care Center.
Mrs. Ruszkowski was a former vice president and stockholder of the Zahoran Funeral Home. She also had been employed by the St. Joseph County Recorder's Office and the former Meyer's Hardware. Margaret was a member of Our Lady of Hungary Catholic Church, its St. Anne Society and the Harvest House.
She was born on March 21, 1913, in Gary, Ind., to Michael and Anna Zahoran. On May 19, 1934, in South Bend, Ind., she married Carl F. Solzan, who died on April 29, 1951. On Feb. 24, 1962, she married Walter Ruszkowski, who survives, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Margaret was also preceded in death by her parents, and by two sisters, Dorothy Toth and Frances A. Nowak.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 20, in Our Lady of Hungary Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
Family and friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 S. Kemble Avenue, where a Rosary will be recited at 3 p.m. by the Harvest House and St. Anne Society.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Our Lady of Hungary Church Repair Fund or to Hospice of St. Joseph County.
