SOUTH BEND - Lawrence J. Russo Jr., 54, Waldorf, MD, formerly of
South Bend, died suddenly on March 20, 2010, at George Washington
University Hospital in Waldorf Md. Born in Somerville, NJ, he was
raised in Peapack-Gladstone. He moved to Waldorf, Md. five years
ago after living in Birmingham, AL. Prior to that Larry lived in
South Bend, IN. for nearly 20 years where he worked at New Energy
Corporation. Larry received his Bachelors Degree in Chemical
Engineering from the University of Dayton and his masters Degree
from Indiana University. He was a past member of the
Peapack-Gladstone Fire Department. He was also an avid
motorcyclist. Larry was a Chemical Engineer for the United States
Department of Energy in Washington, D.C. for the last 5 years. He
was involved in Biomass conversion and bio energy for nearly 30
years. He also had several patents, awards and publications
regarding ethanol research and Biofuels. Survivors include his
parents, Lawrence J. Sr. and Dorothea Masler Russo; two brothers,
Eugene and his wife Debby of Califon and Joseph and his wife Jill
of Great Meadows; two sisters, Lee Ann Russo of Peapack and Linda
Kiss and her husband Paul of Pennington, NJ. He is also survived
by 14 nieces and nephews; and four parakeets and Maggie the
Macaw. Larry was preceded in death by Nikki Dee his faithful
friend and dog. Visitation will be held on Friday from 2-4 &
7-9 pm at the Bailey Funeral Home, 176 Main St. Peapack. Funeral
Mass Saturday at 10:30 am at St. Brigid Church. Cremation
