Frederick E. Rush
Frederick E. Rush, 73, a resident of the Carlyle Nursing Home in South Bend, died at 8 p.m. Tuesday in St. Joseph Hospital, following a lengthy illness. He was born in Kentland, Ind., on Nov. 26, 1906, and spent the majority of his life in this area after moving here as a child. On May 22, 1947, in Michigan City, he married the former Lucille I. Colclesser, who survives.
Also surviving is a son, Dale E. Rush of South Bend, and a daughter Mrs. Donna Hockmeyer of Niles, two step-sons, Donald Olds of Arizona and Delbert Olds of Florida; six step-daughters, Mrs. Donald Stoffer of South Bend, Mrs. Carol Demler, Mrs. Sharon Saver, and Sandra and Delores Olds, all of Michigan; a sister, Mrs. William Beyke of Huntingberg, Ind.; 31 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. He retired from Paco Industries in South Bend in 1974 after 28 years of service.
Private services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in the Bubb Funeral Chapel. Rev. Lee Lebsack of the Calvary Temple, South Bend will officiate . Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Memorials can be made to the St. Joseph County Cancer Society.
