Gizella Rupchock, 78, of West Russ
Street, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away after an illness at 8:30
a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 28, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend, Ind.
She was born on Oct. 25, 1919, in South Bend, to Ferdinand and
Agnes (Kuzmich) Krizmanich, who have preceded her
in death. She was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, John
Dettmer in June 1997.
On May 14, 1949, in St. Joseph Catholic
Church, South Bend, Gizella married Charles A. Rupchock, who
survives. She is also survived by three daughters, Elizabeth
Dettmer of South Bend, Patricia Rupchock of Osceola, Ind., and
Theresa (James) DeVos of Angola, Ind.; three
grandchildren, Marie, Christopher and Michael DeVos, all of
Angola; five brothers, Fred and John Krizmanich of Florida, Steve
and Herman Krizmanich of South Bend, and Fr. Germain ''Carl''
Krizmanich, O.F.M., of Cincinnati, Ohio; and by a sister,
Elizabeth Garter of South Bend.
Gizella was a member of St. Matthew
Cathedral, South Bend. She had been previously employed at the
Burkhart Insurance Agency and Bendix Corporation, both in South
Bend. However, she spent most of her married life as a homemaker.
Visitation was from 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday
in the Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home, Mishawaka, with a Rosary
recited at 7:30 p.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m.
today in St. Matthew Cathedral. Interment will follow in the
Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka. Memorial contributions may be made
to Hospice of St. Joseph County.
