Sister M. Madeline Ruof CSC, 82, of St. Mary’s Convent. She was born on July 12, 1895 in Lancaster, Pa. and entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross at St. Mary'’March 24, 1915. She made her profession of vows on Aug. 15, 1917.She taught in elementary schools in Illinois, Ohio, Washington DC, and Virginia before her retirement in 1969.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Church of Loretto, with burial in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, both at St. Mary’s Friends may call after 3:30 pm Sunday in the convent parlors, where a wake will be at 7 p.m. Her nephew, Rev. Joseph C. Hilbert of New York, will officiate her mass.
