SOUTH BEND - Hazel G. Rudolph, 101, of Hilton Head, SC, formerly
of South Bend, IN, was called home to the Lord on December 19,
2009. Mrs. Rudolph (our mother) lived in South Bend, IN, for more
than 65 years. She was the loving wife of our father, Dr. Carl J.
Rudolph. Mom spent her life caring for people as a nurse, a
mother and a friend. She taught us the importance of family,
belief in God, need to be self-sufficient, value of an education,
the power of courage, fun of Christmas and love of Notre Dame
football. For those precious gifts we thank her. Her favorite
poem was "An Irish Blessing": "May the road
rise to meet you, May the wind be always at your back. May the
sun shine warm upon your face, The rains fall soft upon your
fields. And until we meet again, May God hold you in the palm of
his hand." We love you mom. Mrs. Rudolph is survived
by her five children, Mrs. Anna May Stern of Bisbee, AZ, Mr. Carl
Rudolph of Mishawaka, IN, Mr. William Rudolph of Ajijic, Mexico,
Mrs. Hazel Myer of Chapel Hill, NC, and Mr. Ronald Rudolph of
Savannah, GA; and her three grandchildren, Kathleen Gormal of
Indianapolis, IN, Ryan Rudolph of Savannah, GA, and Ashley
Diamond of New York, NY. In memory of our mother, memorial
donations may be made to Prevent Blindness America, 211 West
Wacker Drive, Suite 1700, Chicago, IL 60606. This was a cause
that meant a great deal to her.
