James N. Rudhman Sr., 76, of
Enchanted Forest, South Bend, Ind., died on Friday evening, Dec.
22, in his home. Jim was a regional sales manager from 1970-1980
with the FMC Corporation, Conway, Ark.; 1980-82, manufacturers
agent and distributor for Michiana Automotive Distributors in
Granger, Ind.; from 1982-86, regional sales manager for Chart
Industries of Canada; and from 1986 to present, was a
manufacturer's agent in Granger. Upon his retirement he was
employed at the Mishawaka Menards Store which he enjoyed,
especially when children thought Jim was the actual Menards man
from television ads. He was a World War II veteran serving in the
U.S. Army.
He was born on June 29, 1924, in Denver,
Colo., to Francis and Isabelle (Black) Rudhman, who preceded him
in death. Jim was also preceded in death by his brother, Edward.
He had lived in South Bend for 36 years after coming from Hudson,
Ohio.
He was married on Aug. 24, 1946, in
Milwaukee, Wis., to Mary Stathas, who survives. He is also
survived by four daughters, Liza (Bob) Sinkiewicz of
Lithonia, Ga., Daphne (John) Litton of Kernersville, N.C.,
Barbara Rudhman of Mishawaka and Nancy (Harry Thibault)
Rudhman of South Bend; a son, Jim (Judy) Rudhman of Mishawaka;
and by five grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. today, Dec.
27, in St. Andrew's Greek Orthodox Church, 52455 N. Ironwood,
South Bend (between Auten and Cleveland roads).Burial will follow
at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park in Granger. Friends called
from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday in the HICKEY Funeral Home, 17131
Cleveland Road, where a prayer service was said at 7 p.m. in the
funeral home. Memorials may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph
