SOUTH BEND - Cheryl A. Rucano, 56, of
South Bend, passed away at 3:15 PM Sunday, November 9, as the
result of an automobile accident. She was born on November 16,
1951, to the late Charles R. and Lucille D. (Harden) Martin
in South Bend, and was a lifelong resident. Mrs. Rucano was
currently employed by the law firm of May Oberfell Lorber in
Mishawaka, IN, where she had worked for 20 years. She was a 1969
graduate from St. Joseph High School. On May 26, 1973, as Cheryl
A. Martin, she married John J. Rucano Jr. at Corpus Christi
Catholic Church in South Bend. She is survived by her loving
husband, John J. Rucano Jr. of South Bend; two daughters, Andrea
M. (Timothy) Whittaker of Indianapolis and Gina M. (Eric) Nichols
of South Bend; one son, John J. Rucano III of South Bend; two
grandchildren, Haley E. and Tyler L. Nichols, both of South Bend;
one sister, Anita (Leo) Goepfrich of Traverse City, MI;
and three brothers, Richard (Marian) Martin of Highland Heights,
OH, James K. Martin of South Bend and Donald L. Martin of South
Bend. Cheryl was a member of Corpus Christi Parish. Love

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 PM today, Nov. 12, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, where a parish Rosary will be prayed at 4 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM Thursday, Nov. 13, in Corpus Christi Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 2822 Corpus Christi Drive, South Bend, IN 46628.
