William E. Rozycki

William E. Rozycki, 56, died in his home at 1:10 p.m. Monday, Jan. 6, after an illness. He was born Feb. 8, 1940, in South Bend, Ind., to Rose and Eugene Rozycki and was a lifelong area resident.

William graduated from St. Joseph's High School and Indiana University. He began working at The National Bank and Trust Company (now Norwest) in 1962 where he ascended to the position of Vice President and Senior Portfolio Manager in the Trust Department, retiring in 1991 after 29 years of service.

 

On July 20, 1968, he married Marian Clarquist at Sacred Heart Church, Notre Dame. Marian survives along with a son, Todd William of Indianapolis., Ind. His mother and one brother, James, preceded him in death. He is also survived by his father and stepmother, Joan Rozycki, who reside in South Bend.

 

During his lifetime, he was very active in community efforts. William was a former Director, St. Joseph County Parks Foundation; former President and Director, Madison Center Foundation; former Director and Treasurer, South Bend Symphony Orchestra Association; Director, Chair of Investment Committee and member of the Finance Committee; former Treasurer and Director, Youth for Understanding; former Director, Potawatomi Zoological Society; former Director and Treasurer, Cancer Society of St. Joseph County; fundraiser: Century Center, United Way, Michiana Arts and Sciences Council, Indiana University South Bend Capital Campaign; committee member, Indiana University South Bend/Purdue University Relations; former member, Bethel College Executive Search Committee. William was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 9. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery.

 

Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Kaniewski Funeral Home. There will be a parish wake service at 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the City of South Bend Potawatomi Zoo, to the South Bend Symphony Orchestra, or to the charity of donor's choice.
