SOUTH BEND Frank A. Ross, 69,
of East Bowman Street, South Bend, Ind., passed away after an
extended illness at 8:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 25, in Hospice
House of St. Joseph County. Mr. Ross was born on Feb. 25, 1930,
in Momence, Ill., and had resided in the South Bend area since
1970, coming from Walkerton, Ind.
In 1970 he retired from EWI, Inc., formerly
the Allied Stamping Corporation in South Bend. Mr. Ross was also
a U.S. Army veteran, serving his country with honor.
Mr. Ross is survived by three daughters and
a son: Rhonda Vires of Argos, Ind., and Patty Ross and
Cheryl Snyder, both of Bourbon, Ind., and a son, Charles
H. Ross of LaPaz, Ind.; nine grandchildren and nine
great-grandchildren; and by two brothers, Charles A. Ross of
Dallas, Texas, and Ernest A. Ross of Plymouth, Ind. Mr. Ross was
a member of Council Oak Masonic Lodge #745 (F&AM) Scottish
Rite Valley of South Bend.
Visitation hours will be from 4 to 8 p.m.
today, Jan. 27, in the Hanley & Sons "Southwest
Chapel" Funeral Home, located at West Ireland Road and
Indiana 23, South Bend. A Masonic service will be said at 7 p.m.
today in the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 11
a.m. on Friday, Jan. 28, in the funeral home, with Rev. Sam
Oliver officiating. Burial will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery,
Walkerton. The family requests that all memorial contributions be
made to Hospice House of St. Joseph County. The Hanley and Sons
"Southwest Chapel" Funeral Home, located at West
Ireland Road and Indiana 23, handled services and extend
heartfelt sympathy to the Ross family.
