MISHAWAKA - Elizabeth ''Betty'' Rospopo, 81, of Mishawaka Avenue, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away at 6:05 p.m. on Thursday, July 2, in her residence.
A lifelong resident of Mishawaka, Betty was born to Frank and Elizabeth Fozo, who preceded her in death.
On May 15, 1937, she married Frank Rospopo in St. Monica Catholic Church. He died on Sept. 26, 1982. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Frankie in 1918; a sister, Irene in 1929; and by another brother, Steve Fozo of Mishawaka, who died in 1982.
She is survived by a son, Steve of Mishawaka; a daughter, Elaine Gulas; three grandchildren, Natalie Gulas, Drew Gulas and Paul Gulas, all of Granger, Ind.; and by an aunt, Margaret Prucinsky of Ligonier, Ind. Betty is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Betty was a member of St. Monica Catholic Church and was an auxiliary member of the Legion of Mary. She also belonged to the Rosary Society. During the 1950s she was an active member of the St. Monica Mother's Club. She was a lifetime homemaker.
Friends may call from 3 to 7 pm. today in the Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main Street, Mishawaka, where a wake service will be held at 4 p.m.
The funeral Mass will be said at 10 a.m. on Monday in St. Monica Catholic Church, with Fr. William Sullivan officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County or to the St. Monica Catholic Church Building Fund.
