MISHAWAKA
- Irene Roose, 84, of Concord Court, Mishawaka, passed away at
2:17 pm Wednesday at Fountainview Place, Mishawaka. She was born
on November 27th, 1924, in Mishawaka to Ivo and Catherine
(Shafer) Scheffler who preceded her in death. On July 30th, 1949,
she married Robert Roose in Mishawaka. He died August 30th, 2002.
She is survived by her children, Toby Moore of Mishawaka, Cathy
(Michael) Miller of Elkhart and Robert (Karen) Roose of
Mishawaka. A sister, Betty Smith of Elkhart and two
sisters-in-law Ada Marie Scheffler of Edwardsburg and Betty Roose
of Mishawaka. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Matt Mroczek,
Marc Mroczek, Andy Mroczek, Amanda Holdeman, Jason Roose and
Kevin Roose. Three great grandchildren, Cody Pecher, Payton Roose
and Amy Roose. Eight step grandchildren, Kim Egendoerfer, Adam
Egendoerfer, Willie Egendoerfer, Adrian Slates, Erica Sapp,
Krysten Egendoerfer, Dustin Miller and Tammy Dustin. Seven step
great-grandchildren, Austin Slates, Alex Slates, Brenna
Egendoerfer, Gavin Egendoerfer, Austin Miller, Derrick Dustin and
Kammy Dustin. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary
Dutenhaver, Hazel Studebaker and Virginia Engle and a brother,
Dick Scheffler. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October
5th at 11 am in the Osceola Church of the Brethren. Friends will
be received from 2 until 6 pm on Sunday, October 4th in the Bubb
Funeral Chapel, 3910 N Main Street, Mishawaka. Officiating the
services on Monday will be Pastor Don Carroll and burial will
follow the services at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. The family
has requested that memorial contributions be made to the Center
for Hospice and Palliative Care.
