Grace C. Romine
Dec. 2, 1913 - April 17, 1999
Mrs. Grace C. Romine, 85, of South
Bend, Ind., passed away on Saturday afternoon, April 17, in
Regency Place Healthcare.
She was born on Dec. 2, 1913, in Telahoma,
Tenn., to Ben David and Florence (Boswell) Curl.
On Oct. 31, 1935, in Harvey, Ill.,
she married William E. Romine, who preceded her in death in 1985.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Robert Romine; and by
several sisters and brothers.
She is survived by her sons, James
(Barbara) Romine of Mishawaka, Ind., and Carl (Janice) Romine of
South Bend; seven grandchildren, Sue (Al) Johnson, Deborah (Bob)
Martin, Larry (Cheryl) Romine, Jami Lea and Jodi Lynn Romine, all
of South Bend, Troy and Chris Romine of Oregon; eight
great-grandchildren, Joshua and Jennifer Johnson, Vince, Charles,
Jack and Austin Romine, Brittany Martin and Toni Versemesse; and
by two great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Romine retired after 30 years
service with the South Bend Community School Corporation as head
cook at Clay Middle School. She was a member of Community
Congregational Church and belonged to the Rebecca Lodge #72
I.O.O.F., which held a memorial service at 7 p.m. on Monday in
the Welsheimer Funeral Home North.
Services will also be at 11 a.m.
today in the Welsheimer Funeral Home North, 17033 Cleveland Road,
where friends were received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on
Monday. Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made
to the Community Congregational Church.
