SOUTH BEND - Billie D. Romig, 77, passed away at 3:31 p.m.
Saturday, Aug. 2nd, in Memorial Hospital. Billie was born on
September 3, 1930, in Fulton County, IN, to the late Frederick H.
and Jessie Olive (Bryant) Romig. He was also preceded in
death by his sister, Betty Wunder. On August 18, 1951, he
married Eva Mae Coney, who survives along with their three
children, Linda (Bryan) Flora of South Bend, Rory Romig of
Walkerton and Frederick Romig of South Bend; four grandchildren,
Ian and Colin Flora, Andrea and Rory Romig II; a
great-granddaughter, Kelsey Marie Flora; and his brother, Robert
(Paula) Romig of New Carlisle. Billie was in the United States
Army and served during the Korean War; he retired in 1987 from
Bendix. He was a painter and won "Best Oil Painter" of
Lake County, FL.
ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, South Bend, is assisting the family. There will be a remembrance of Billie's life on August 17th.
