13, 1917 - Dec. 20, 2009NEW CARLISLE - Eleanor I. Roloff, 92, of New Carlisle, IN, passed away at 5:00 a.m. Sunday, December 20, 2009, in Hamilton Communities. Eleanor was born on March 13, 1917, in Rison, AR, and had lived in New Carlisle for sixty-one years. She retired from Hamilton Communities, where she was employed for seventeen years. On August 25, 1940, in LaPorte, IN, she married Robert M. Roloff, who preceded her in death on May 19, 1989. Also preceding her in death were her father, Chester Hunt; her mother, Bessie (McVay) Hunt; four brothers and one sister. Survivors include three daughters, Gloria (Rudy) Adams of Walkerton, IN, Connie (David) Crama of LaPorte, IN, and Barbara (Stan) Holdcraft of Michigan City, IN; ten grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., E.S.T., Thursday, December 24, 2009, in the New Carlisle Community Church. Burial will follow in New Carlisle Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 until 8 p.m., E.S.T., Wednesday in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 201 S. Filbert Street, New Carlisle, IN. Eleanor was a 1936 graduate of Rolling Prairie High School. She was a Life Elder of the New Carlisle Community Church, a member of the Eastern Star, and a member of the American Legion Post #297 Women's Auxiliary. Memorial contributions may be made to the New Carlisle Community Church Food Pantry.
