Lovell C. Rogers

May 3, 1916 - May 19, 2001

Lovell C. Rogers, age 85, of Buckingham Court in Granger, passed away at 3:05 a.m. Saturday, May 19, 2001 at Hamilton Community Health Center in New Carlisle of natural causes.

Mrs. Rogers was born May 3, 1916 to Percy and Hazel (Sheets) Retter in Van Horne, Iowa. On November 22, 1936 she married Elbert C. Rogers in Osceola, Indiana. He preceded her in death, along with a brother, Sheldon Retter, and a sister Betty Retter.

Surviving members of her family include her son Gregory C. Rogers and his wife Susan of Granger, her 2 daughters Rebecca Barr and her husband Robert of Granger, Linda Johnson of Orangevail, California; a sister Kathleen Briggs and her husband Robert of Bend, Oregon, 8 Grandchildren, and 3 Great-grandchildren.

Visitation and service for Mrs. Rogers will be private. Chapel Hill Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Interment will be in the Good Shepherd Mausoleum in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Rogers was a graduate of Mishawaka High School in Mishawaka, Indiana. She was a homemaker. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Hospice of St. Joseph County, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, Indiana 46637-3427.
