SOUTH BEND - Ray H. Roe, 68, of
Burbank Street, South Bend, Ind., died at 4:45 p.m. on Friday,
March 20, in Memorial Hospital. He was born on Nov. 26, 1929, in
Des Arc, Ark. and lived in this area for 52 years, coming from
Des Arc. He retired from the Bendix Corporation.
He was married on June 28, 1986, in South
Bend, to Frances Nick, who survives. He is also survived
by a daughter, Karla Roe of South Bend; four stepdaughters,
Sharon Zalas and Kathleen Ploughe, both of South
Bend, Debbie Blatz of Mishawaka, Ind., and Connie Kourlas
of Lakeville, Ind.; two sons, Phillip Roe of South Bend and Paul
Roe of Niles, Mich.; a stepson, David Ploughe of South Bend; 16
grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Dean Purvis of Jonesboro,
Ark.; and by a brother, Carthel Roe of South Bend.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
on Monday in the St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Road.
Services will be held at noon on Tuesday in the St. Joseph
Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Bremen Cemetery. Mr.
Roe was a member of the American Legion Post 50.
