MISHAWAKA - August Homer Rodts, 77 of South Main Street, died Monday afternoon in the home of his daughter on Sunnymede Avenue in South Bend. He retired in 1978 from Dodge Manufacturing after 30 years of service as an engineer. He was born Aug. 15, 1913 in Mishawaka and was a lifetime area resident.

On Feb. 10, 1948, in Mishawaka he married Martha Schelstraete. She survives with a daughter, Janet Balog of South Bend; a son. Dr. Thomas L. of Oak Park, Ill.; three grandchildren; and two brothers, Alfred and Homer, both of Florida. 

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in St. Bavo’s Catholic Church and burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Hahn-DeVos Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
