MISHAWAKA - Alfons Rodts, 68, of
rural route No. 2, Mishawaka, died Thursday afternoon in St.
Joseph Hospital. He was bornApril 11, 1878 in Aelter, Belgium and
came here from that country 43 years ago.
He married Adelia DeVliegher in 1903
in Belgium. She died Feb. 28. 1932. Surviving are two sons,
Raymond Rodts of Bremen and Emiel Rodts of Mishawaka; three
daughters; Mrs. Lena Bickel of South Bend, Miss Avina Rodts and
Mrs. Marcel Cooreman, both of Mishakaks; three brothers,
August, Theophiel and Adolf, all of Mishawaka; one sister Mrs.
Camiel Elbode of Mishawaka; and eight grandchildren.
Friends may call at the DeVos Chapel Saturday afternoon. Services will be at 9 a.m. Monday in St. Bavo’s Catholic Church with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery. The rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Sunday in the church.
