LAKEVILLE - M. Rita Rodino, 59, of Kenilworth Road, Lakeville, Ind., passed away after an extended illness at 5:20 p.m. Monday, March 4th, in the Ironwood Health & Rehabilitation Center, South Bend, Ind.
Mrs. Rodino was born on Aug. 25, 1942, in South Bend.
She was a lifetime resident of the Michiana area. Rita was preceded in death by a son, Larry J. Schramm on Feb. 15, 1975, and by her parents.
On May 28, 1971, in South Bend, she married Louis A. Rodino, who survives. She is also survived by three daughters and a son: Gina O'Neal of Pismo, Calif., Cheryl A. Lukasiak of South Bend and Kim Rodino Springer of South Bend, and a son, Louis A. III (Sandy) Rodino of Elkhart, Ind.
Also surviving are two loving grandchildren who Rita loved and cherished, Shauna Springer and Justin Springer; a sister, Carol A. (Louis) Gudino of Clinton, Ind.; and a brother, Thomas F. (Susan) Schramm of South Bend
Prior to becoming ill, Rita worked at A.M. General Corporation for 23 years, having worked at the South Bend and Mishawaka locations.
Rita was not only loved deeply by her husband and family, she was loved by all. She will be greatly missed by numerous friends and co-workers.
Rita was a former member of the People of Praise community, was a member of the UAW local at A.M. General Corporation, and was a member of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church.
Visitation hours will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today, March 7, in the Hanley & Sons "Southwest Chapel" Funeral Home, located at West Ireland Road/Indiana 23, South Bend. A Rosary will be said at 6:30 p.m. today.
Funeral services will take place at 1 p.m. Friday, March 8th, in Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, 63568 U.S. 31 South, South Bend, with Rev. Thomas King, C.S.C., officiating. Burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend.
