George G. Robison

George G. Robison, age 90, residing at Tanglewood Trace, Mishawaka, IN, passed away at 6:20 p.m. Saturday, October 6, 2001, in Rosewood Terrace Nursing Home, Elkhart, where he was admitted on Tuesday, October 2. Mr. Robison was born January 30, 1911, in Knox, Indiana, as the son of Albert & Evelyn (Conklin) Robison and has lived in the South Bend-Mishawaka area most of his life. He was a graduate of South Bend Central High School where he was on the golf team. He was an avid golfer all of his life and most recently enjoyed playing in the Seniors Tournament. He was a member of Community Baptist Church in South Bend, and retired in 1973 from the Bendix Corp. where he was employed in the Brake & Strut Division for more than 30 years.

On May 27, 1933 in South Bend, he married Vivian B. Robinson. They enjoyed more than 50 years together until her passing on May 13, 1984. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth "Betty" Kaiser and a brother, James Robison. Mr. Robison is survived by a daughter, JoAnn Bushman (Gary) Rushenberg of Elkhart; and three sons, Roger A. (Carla) Robison of Franklin, North Carolina, Jack C. (Pam) Robison of Mendota, Ill, and Walter James Robison of South Bend. Also surviving are ten grandchildren, Rhonda Haehn, Michael Robison, Beverly Johnsen, Robert W. Bushman, Jennifer A. Jones, Suzanne M. Jacobs, Melissa A. Hirth, Kimberly A. Komendant, David A. Robison, and Phillip Jones, and nineteen great-grandchildren.

Services for George G. Robison will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 10, in Palmer Funeral Home, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend. Rev. Dennis Ingle, pastor of Albright United Methodist church will officiate. Graveside services and burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Palmer Funeral Home.
